DALLAS, TX (April 22, 2026) - Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio, Inc. (MIW), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to advancing female leadership in radio broadcasting, proudly names Mike McVay, President of McVay Media, as the recipient of the 3rd Annual MIW Erica Farber Impact Award.
This prestigious award recognizes individuals who drive meaningful change by actively engaging with impactful organizations and generously contributing their time, expertise, and resources. Honorees are true champions of service, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to fostering growth and progress within the industry.
Mike McVay was presented with the award by Erica Farber on Monday, April 20th, at the MIW Lipstick & Lobster Dinner at Maggiano’s.
MIW Board President Sheila Kirby stated, “Mike McVay has been a consistent and powerful advocate for both the radio industry and the advancement of women within it. His willingness to share his time, expertise, and influence has made a lasting impact on MIW and the broader community we serve. Mike McVay is President of McVay Media, a full-service consulting firm specializing in content creation, programming, podcast development, digital strategy, and talent coaching. Over a career spanning more than four decades, he has held leadership roles including Executive Vice President of Content and Programming for Cumulus Media and Westwood One, where he oversaw programming for more than 500 radio stations, as well as podcasting, digital distribution, and content strategy initiatives.
A respected industry leader, McVay has worked with and coached some of the most recognized names in media and entertainment, including Stephen A. Smith, Soledad O’Brien, Reba McEntire, John Tesh, Delilah, and Elaina Smith. A longtime mentor to Elaina, McVay has played a role in her growth into an award-winning Country radio personality, one of the most recognizable voices in the format, and host of Backstage Country.
He is a National Radio Hall of Fame inductee (2025) and recipient of numerous honors, including the NAB National Radio Award, the Giants of Broadcasting Award, and multiple “Programmer/Consultant of the Year” distinctions. His influence spans radio, podcasting, digital media, and global consulting, with a legacy defined by innovation, mentorship, and a deep commitment to the growth of the industry.

Mike McVay is the third recipient of the Erica Farber Impact Award, following Dan Spears in 2025 and Erica Farber herself, who was honored with the inaugural award in 2024 at NAB.
