Teresa Cox-Stanton’s broadcasting career has spanned over the past two decades. An industry veteran, she spent the initial ten years of her career working in St. Joseph, Missouri and the past ten years employed at the Carter Broadcast Group in Kansas City, MO.
Teresa began her career in direct sales at KKJO Radio in 1986, receiving numerous top sales awards over the eight year period she was there. After a two year stint in television at KQTV, Teresa went onto to work at KPRS-FM in Kansas City.
Since 1996, Teresa has been a top sales achiever at the Carter Broadcast Group. She was recently promoted to Co-National Sales Manager of the organization. In her role, Teresa is responsible for actively driving national sales for three radio stations. She reports directly to the Vice-President of the company, Mr. Vic Dyson, and General Sales Manager, Mr. Todd Fries.
Teresa is a past secretary of the St. Joseph Ad club and is a member of the Kansas City Media Mix Club. In addition, she is a member of the St. Joseph Rotary club.
Teresa attended Missouri Western State College in St. Joseph, Mo.
She is the proud mother of two sons (Brandon and Nathaniel) and two grandsons (Benjamin and Austin). In the summer of 2006, Teresa married Michael Stanton of Lee’s Summit and is currently enjoying making a new home for their combined families.

Deidra Lieberman
Director of Sales

Deidra Lieberman joined KGO-AM Radio Inc. in September 2003. Over the past 3+ years, Lieberman has managed the Sales Department as the General Sales Manager and most currently as the Director of Sales. Lieberman is responsible for Sales and NTR efforts for all the ABC Radio stations in San Francisco, to include KGO Newstalk AM 810, KSFO HotTalk 560, KMKY-AM 1310 Radio Disney and The Oakland Raiders Radio Networks
Over her 16 year broadcast career, Lieberman has worked as an Account Executive for KHTT/KSRO in Santa Rosa, BIG 98 and KFOG Radio in San Francisco and served as Retail Sales Manager, National Sales Manager, Local Sales Manager and General Sales Manager for Susquehanna Radio (KFOG/KNBR/KTCT/KSAN) in San Francisco. Lieberman served on the Bay Area Star Board of Directors for 2 years and is currently active with the Northern California Broadcaster Association.
Lieberman is a native of Long Island New York. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Communications from San Francisco State University and currently resides in Marin County California with her boyfriend and their two dogs, Poppi the Pug and Reina the Tibetan Spaniel. Lieberman enjoys spending her free time hiking, traveling the world, taking spinning and kick boxing classes and spending time with family and friends.

Jennifer Mefford

Jennifer Mefford literally “grew up” in a radio family! Both of her parents worked in the business as managers and part owners of Mid-West Family Radio Stations.
As a child, Jennifer spent countless hours at her family’s radio stations, doing a variety of things ranging from filing record albums to sorting invoices. Once she obtained her driver’s license, she automatically inherited the job of taking the station van to be washed!
Her job eventually became much more glamorous in the early nineties, when she was hired as an account executive for Regional Radio’s WJXQ-FM in Lansing, Michigan. Mefford was quickly promoted to Sales Manager of both WJXQ and WWDX, the company’s Active and Alternative properties.
After three years in Lansing, Jennifer followed her passion for the Alternative music format to KMYZ-FM in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she spent two years as the General Sales Manager.
Upon returning to her home state in 1998, she joined Greater Media Detroit as an account manager, where she was subsequently promoted to Local Sales Manager of WRIF-FM before becoming General Sales Manager of sister station WCSX in the fall of 2000, where she remains today.
Mefford credits her success in the business to her tenacity, her heart-felt passion for the industry and the support of her family.
When she’s not promoting the attributes of radio, she spends her time cooking, entertaining and enjoying time with her husband, Franz.

Laura Steele
General Sales Manager/National Sales Manager
WFUN and WHHL
Radio One/St. Louis

Laura is a native of St. Louis, Missouri. She grew up the oldest of six children. A graduate of Tulsa University, Laura earned a BA in Fine Arts with a minor in business. She married in 1989 and welcomed her son Shane. In 1991, she moved to Chicago and began her career in sales.
A veteran sales executive, Laura sold a variety of products and services before launching her career in radio. In 1998, Laura moved back to St. Louis from Chicago. At that time, a friend suggested she try radio. She did and it stuck! Now she’s a career radio devotee.
Laura’s past experience includes working in sales for Clear Channel’s KLOU oldies radio, the legendary WIL (country), Bonneville, and CBS’s KEZK (soft rock) where she became General Sales Manager. Today, Laura is the General Sales Manager and the National Sales Manager for WFUN and WHHL, Radio One’s urban a/c and hip hop stations.
A member of the National Association of Female Executives (NAFE) and EWomen Network, Laura owes her success in part to networking organizations, where she’s been able to make all the right contacts.
Constantly in search of new information, Laura attended Dale Carnegie Sales Training in 1998 and the Carnegie Mgmt. training in 2000. She recently won a fellowship and attended the NAB’s Executive Development Training at Georgetown University.
Laura and her husband currently reside in the St. Louis suburb of Collinsville Illinois with their two teenage sons. As a family, they enjoy movies and vacations at the lake together. Her husband is a partner in Veritas, a marketing firm that supports a diversified list of clients in a variety of industries. Laura enjoys travel, reading, learning, baking and spending time with her family.
