Ruth
Presslaff wandered into WTUL (FM), New Orleans, her
college radio station, first day of her freshman year
and was elected the station’s first female General
Manager her sophomore year. She has never wandered far
from radio since then.
Ruth
has an extensive radio background, ranging from on-air
work at WQUE (FM), in New Orleans to Director of Sales
in Chicago and Vice President of Affiliate Relations
in Washington, DC for the United Stations Radio Network.
In
1988, working from a vast foundation of business relationships,
Presslaff formed The Media Gallery, Inc., now Presslaff
Interactive Revenue. The company originally marketed
products for firms with radio related software products.
Over time, PIR brought software development in-house
and now develops and markets services for the creation
of databases and non-traditional revenue. Dat-e-Basesm
the leading e-mail marketing system and the RadioPHONEsm
Interactive Voice Response System, are just two of the
varied PIR services that are successfully implemented
at major market radio stations across the country.
Presslaff
is passionate about radio and the benefits interactive
products bring the broadcast industry. She has spoken
at numerous conferences including the National Association
of Broadcasters, Radio Advertising Bureau Managing Conference,
Broadcast Promotion and Marketing Expo and the Country
Radio Seminar. Presslaff served on the NAB Radio Show
Steering Committee in 2000-2001.
