Rona Landy, a 25-year radio broadcasting
veteran is the Vice President, General Manager of WLTW,
106.7 Lite-fm, and WTJM, Jammin 105, New York. While
at the helm of WTJM for the past year, Ms. Landy has
spent the past 13 years at WLTW, joining the station
in 1987 as General Sales Manager and serving as the
VP/GM since 1992. During her tenure WLTW has been Arbitron’s
top ranked radio station, total audience, in 11 of the
last 12 rating books and #1 25-54 in 12 out of the last
15…an achievement that has never been duplicated
in NY. And for the past four years, WLTW has ranked
as the #1 or #2 billing FM station in the United States.
Ms. Landy spearheaded Lite-fm’s involvement in
“Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” in
the tri-state area, the largest single fundraising event
in America to fight breast cancer, and pioneered the
radio industry’s use of celebrity spokespeople.
Prior
to WLTW, Ms. Landy spent almost a decade at CBS in New
York, starting as an Account Executive at WCBS-AM, and
serving as National Sales Manager and Local Sales Manager
there as well.
Ms.
Landy has served as past Chairperson of NYMRAD and past
President of the New York Master Antenna Committee and
currently serves on the Board of the New York State
Broadcasters Association.
A
graduate of the University of California at Berkeley
with a major in Communications and Public Policy, Ms.
Landy is married to Ian McKechnie and has one daughter,
Suzanne.
