Mrs. Garber's distinguished advertising and broadcast career has always been Los Angeles-based. She held senior media positions at Chiat/Day and Foote, Cone & Belding in Los Angeles. Her radio experience includes local sales and management for CBS and ABC radio stations and at Interep Radio. She worked on the client side of the advertising business for two years as VP/Broadcast Media for Buena Vista Pictures Marketing serving the Walt Disney Studios.

Mrs. Garber was named President of the Southern California Broadcasters Association in May of 1998. Since then she has co-produced, in conjunction with Arbitron, three behavioral studies about media usage. She coined the phrase "A radio station is a Virtual Community" and has delivered that message in over 200 presentations since 2001. Mrs. Garber also teaches. Over 500 people from the advertising business went through her Media Planning courses at UCLA Extension, and over 500 radio sales people have been trained through her SCBU (Southern California Broadcasters University) courses since 1994.

Since the inception of the list five years ago, Mrs. Garber has been named one of the "20 Most Influential Women in Radio" by RADIO INK Magazine. She was the recipient of the 2000 Southern California Chapter of American Women in Radio and Television (AWRT) Genii Award for Excellence in Radio. She has been a keynote speaker at business conferences and events around the country.

Community service plays a major part in Mrs. Garber's life. She is on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Advertising Club, the Board of Trustees of Pitzer College, the Board of Trustees of St. Francis Hospital Foundation, the Media Advisory Board of Drug Free So. California, and the Board of The Variety Children's Charity, Tent 25. She recently was named a member of the prestigious Southern California chapter of American Women in Radio and Television Advisory Council. She is a founding member of the L.A. ad industry charity, Advertising Industry Emergency Fund (AIEF).

Advertising runs in the family: Mrs. Garber's son Greg works for Infinity Radio in Phoenix, Arizona. Mrs. Garber and her husband reside in Malibu with their dog, Paddington.
