Laura Hagan is the President of Katz
Hispanic Media, the nation’s largest Hispanic
rep firm representing the largest Spanish language broadcaster
in the U.S., Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation.
Laura, a native of Ecuador, is a true pioneer in the
Hispanic media industry with over twenty-five years
of experience working in radio and television at the
local and national level.
Laura began her career in Spanish media working at New
York’s heritage Spanish station WADO-AM in 1984
and first joined Katz Hispanic Media as an account executive
in 1987. Laura was promoted one year later to New York
Sales Manager for the division. In 1991 she left to
pursue a position as General Sales Manager for CBS Hispanic
Radio Networks. In 1993 Laura was named the VP of Marketing
& New Business Development at Univision’s
NY affiliate WXTV.
Laura returned to Katz in 1994 as Vice President of
Sales, where one of her greatest achievements was spearheading
the opening of Katz Hispanic Media's Miami office in
1997. Laura was elevated to Executive Vice President
in 1998 and became President of Katz Hispanic Media
in 1999.
Since 2001, Laura has been a member of the Board of
Directors of the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB), the
sales and marketing arm of the radio industry. Laura
also sits on the board of the NY chapter of the American
Women in Radio and Television (AWRT). She was a panelist
on AWRT’s Hispanic & Urban Radio Forum in
March 2001, a program which won the coveted AWRT National
Bell Award for Best Program.
Laura lives on Long Island with her husband Bill Hagan.
