| Jennifer Purtan is Vice President and Director of Sales for WWJTV and
WKBD-TV, the CBS owned duopoly in Detroit. She is responsible for the
overseeing of all sales operations, new business development,
research, sales marketing and digital platform sales for both television
stations and their respective websites, WWJTV.com and CW50Detroit.com.
Prior to that she was senior vice president of advertising sales and
marketing for ABC Radio Networks. In this position which she held from
2000-2005, Ms. Purtan directed eight sales offices for ABC Radio
Networks. Responsibilities included the development of national network
business through strategic sales to advertisers and their agencies for
all ABC Radio Networks original and syndicated programming including,
ABC News, Paul Harvey, ESPN Radio, new media, urban and eleven networks.
In addition to directing all sales marketing and promotions, Ms. Purtan
oversaw the development of annual plans aimed at increasing revenue
goals and network multi-platform deals.
Previously, Ms. Purtan was vice president of sales for ABC Radio
Networks for the Midwest, Central and Western States and oversaw
operations for the Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco sales
offices.
Ms. Purtan brings more than 20 years experience in media and ad sales to
this position. Prior to joining ABC Radio Networks in 1994, she was a
senior national account manager for the Detroit office of Landmark
Networks, which included the Weather Channel and the Travel Channel. In
addition, she served as an account executive at numerous leading
stations, including Los Angeles' KABC and KLSX-KLRA radio stations and
Detroit's WJBK and WXON television stations. She began her radio career
as an on-air jock and Assistant News Director at WFMK in Lansing,
Michigan.
Ms. Purtan served on the board of directors of the Detroit Radio
Advertising Group as vice president from 1997 to 2000. She currently
sits on the board of the Purtan Family Ovarian Cancer Research
Foundation. Ms. Purtan completed the Disney/ABC Executive Management
program at The Simmons Graduate School of Management in Boston, Mass and
holds a B.A. from Michigan State University.
A native of the Detroit area, Ms Purtan and her husband currently
