| Chesley Maddox-Dorsey is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Access.1 Communications Corp. Access owns/operates 21 radio stations in New York, Texas and Louisiana, a NBC affiliated TV station in New Jersey; owns SupeRadio Networks and co-owns American Urban Radio Network. SupeRadio, is a national programming syndication company with 35 radio programs. The shows are broadcast to an estimated 100 million people throughout the U.S. AURN is the only African American owned network radio company in the United States broadcasting news and information programming to more than 400 stations nationwide reaching an estimated 25 million African American consumers weekly. Access is seeking to broaden its horizons and continue to acquire stations across formats across the country.
Prior to joining Access, Ms. Maddox-Dorsey was a Senior Vice President in the Investment Banking division of Brenner Securities, a boutique investment-banking firm. In this capacity she was responsible for the Media and Entertainment practice of the firm and worked both on mergers, acquisitions and the capital raising side for the firm’s media and entertainment clients.
For the six years prior to joining Brenner, Ms. Maddox-Dorsey was the principal of the CMA Investment Banking Company, which specialized in financial consulting and loan placement services for medium-sized, privately owned broadcast companies. A former Vice President of Specialized Lending for Ameritrust Company, Ms. Maddox-Dorsey led the bank’s initiation into media lending in 1983. Under her leadership Ameritrust became one of the nation’s foremost lenders to the broadcast industry.
Ms. Maddox-Dorsey is a graduate of Oberlin College, with a BA in Government. She is a frequent guest speaker at seminars and has published several articles on financing broadcast properties. |
