Alene
Grevey is senior vice president of Clear Channel Radio’s
Mid-South Region, formed to capitalize on the high growth
characteristics of markets that include North Carolina,
South Carolina, Georgia, and Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Grevey has total operational responsibility for these
multiple markets.
One of radio’s most dynamic leaders, Grevey has
earned accolades throughout Clear Channel and the radio
industry for her ability to motivate and inspire others
to achievement. Her wealth of experience managing markets
of all sizes and her specific knowledge of the Mid-South
have made her an ideal market manager.
Prior
to her current position, Grevey was market manager/regional
vice president of WEZL, WXLY, WSC, WALC, WRFQ and WSSP,
where she was in charge of day-to-day operations of
the Charleston Trading Zone, including Charleston, SC;
Columbia, SC; Augusta, GA; and Savannah, GA.
Grevey launched her radio career as an account executive
at WEBN in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1985. She was named General
Sales Manager of WEBN in 1992, and Director of Sales
of WEBN and WOFX in 1993. In 1997, she became general
manager of WEBN, WOFX, WVMX and WKFS, earning numerous
broadcasting awards including the Marconi Awards, Legendary
Station of the Year 2000 and Rock Station of the Year
1999. Grevey was named Clear Channel Radio’s Market
Manager of the Year for the South East Region in 2002.
Grevey graduated from the University of South Carolina
and remains active with the South Carolina Broadcasting
Association, having served as a board member. She is
also active in the community through her work with the
United Way.
